Independence day is celebrated on August 15th of every year. After a big fight for 200 years against British rule, we got Independence and now we are taking fresh and free breath. We must salute the freedom fighters who had sacrificed their lives for the sake of country. Independence day is celebrated in India irrespective of caste, creed and religion.
On this Independence day we hoist our national flag in various places like schools, colleges, government offices, public area etc. Also, we sing our national song 'Vande Mataram' in respect to the country. Children love this day a lot because they perform many cultural activities and also sweets will be distributed to all on this day.
On every August 15th, our prime minister hoists the national flag at Red fort. He distributes prizes to all brave hearts, army men, police and other. At the end, we conclude the event with great respect to the country by singing our national anthem.
